KMFDM with Legion Within & Chant

Solid show last night at the Waiting Room from KMFDM. Expect nothing less from them. Particularly impressed with the first act of the night, CHANT, from Austin, TX. Great stuff from those two guys. Legion Within was the peanut butter of this industrial sandwich. Catch the full gallery from the evening over at Omaha Latino but hit the jump for a few of my favorites.

St. Louis, I hardly knew ye...

With Creighton leaving the Missouri Valley Conference this was my last year to be in St. Louis for the MVC Arch Madness tournament. Not gonna lie, there was a lot of beer consumed during Arch Madness. Call it a perk of having your photo call at 11am. But from 11am until screw-this-place-o'clock it's a wonderfully intense work day where you get to emerge from the arena wondering what happened to the rest of the world in the last 10hrs.

Hit the jump for a couple behind the scenes pics and what the daily grind becomes when shooting a tourney...

The CWS Black Hole

I can say with the utmost certainty that my wife does not look forward to the CWS. Every June I set up a small tent near the left field bullpen, steal wifi and occasionally venture outside of the stadium to find a NCAA approved postcard to send the kids. Well, that might be an exaggeration. I usually just buy the regular postcards.

The CWS creates a black hole where time is loosely measured by what game number it is, less the minor details of things like days. Every so often you're reminded of the date when getting your meal ticket punched in the press box, but it's more like a fleeting recognition that whatever day yesterday was you didn't eat. No, wait, that was hot dog day. Maybe I blacked that out on purpose.

Hit the jump...

A few days in the Nebraska panhandle.

I had grand ideas of what I wanted out of this week. Searching one-off roads for quaint signs and frontier character. Surely returning with gigs of content suited for that magic spot surrounded by a yellow frame which appears monthly in my mailbox. Not to say it was a trip wrought with misfortune, but more a lesson in finding opportunity less obvious. Hit the jump for some shots and a quick rundown...

Remote Cam Part 2

There are only a few sequels which live up to the original. Terminator 2, Aliens...and in some circles even Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey. Today's sequel is the second installment about setting up and running your remote camera. If you need a quick review of where we've been so far hop over to Part One. Otherwise, find a comfy chair, hit the jump and we'll get into it...

Remote Cam Part 1 - Parts and that N3 cable

Remote cams are a great way to put yourself in 2, 3...well, as many places at once as you have the budget to be. A remote cam setup can be as simple as a second camera sitting next to you on the baseline, pre-focused on the hoop or multiple cameras clamped around a baseball stadium to make sure you have an angle of every base. But whether it's just one camera or several, there is a certain set of equipment that you'll need to do it successfully. Hit the jump for the shopping list...
